On recent outings, both my grandson and granddaugther found rocks with these orange lines and shapes in them. I promised them I'd put a pic up and see if anyone had ideas of what they might be. This is two sides of the one my granddaugther found. The pics don't do them justice, the orange is much brighter color. Thanks for looking. Cher

My 2 cents worth of opinion is much the same as John's , fossil wormcast or tubeworm.

Hello Cher,
It looks very similar to a material they call Chinese(?) Writing stone. It is generally black with white and sometimes different colored lines. When these stones are cut and polished it looks like Chinese(?) writing ... hence the name.
Check the Chinese Writing Stone and compare them to what you have, thay are very similar.
Enjoy,
John

[glow=red,2,300]LOL[/glow] Tube worms? Eww, that's what they'll say. The patterns do look similar to the Chinese Writing Stone, but the pics I have found are white, not orange. I am going to try giving it a tumble whenever I get one of those dang things.
Thanks for your help!! Cher
PS. I've seen quite a few the white ones, never even thought of picking them up. Darn!!!
