MsAli what do you think about sweet gum seed pods? Too big? (little smaller than a golf ball) Too many crevices? We have a lot in the woods here. I would love to try one! I'll collect and send some for you. This is the time of year they start falling. I'll keep my eyes open for other cool things we have 😀

I want to do bees and beeswax also If I'd have known that, there could have been a few monarch butterflies we could have sent you. My wife raises them as a hobby, but now we're getting into the slow time of year. For 2018, I think we released about 75 monarchs. It could have even been more, but we didn't count. Sometimes, they look like all is going well, but the butterfly just doesn't do well after emerging, and we put it in the freezer to euthanize it. Might have to reconsider and do the old alcohol thing that we used to do as kids so the wings are laid out. Guess you'll have to wait until spring to see if we can add to what you're doing.

Now I am really curious how you raise butterflies. That's really an awesome hobby I would love to do one, even if it is just a wing Spring will give me plenty of time to research how

I'm intrigued by raising butterflies, too. aDave can you start another thread on the basics or where we can learn more?

Alison MsAli and Robin hummingbirdstones, I'll put something together by this weekend. However, in advance of that, you can probably find alot just by searching about raising Monarch Butterflies. While there will be some general info out there, I'll be able to speak to some of the trials and tribulations.

I know some in my area are raising them in a greenhouse type structure. Very small scale, though.

Great job on those! The little gem adds just the right bit of bling to that acorn.
Hope you kick the crud quickly. I had it a few weeks ago (no fever, tho) and the cough took me 2 weeks to kick. What helped immensely was Mucinex Extreme Congestion & Cough (let me sleep instead of coughing my fool head off) and ginger tea with honey.

Had it top off at 102 before I finally took some tylenol. Been in and out of bed today

Novaculite is one of the more sought after knapping materials. The only source I know of is Missouri/Arkansas. Of all the cherts/agates/jaspers I believe it requires the highest temperature to heat treat at an average 900F. It occurs in black-grey-white. The white can be pure lily white and is awesome.

Delsyum makes the best cough syrup. www.delsym.com/ Many store brand knock offs. I hate the crud.
