I've got the power supply and the book to tell me how to do it, It sure looks like I am going to have to give it a go. Loving what you are doing Ali. As far as conductive paint goes I wonder how Cold Galvanising spray would perform, It's zinc rich so should conduct electricity as good as Graphite. Same thought goes for ordinary old silver paint, which is Aluminium. Fwiw the book only talks about Graphite. I cant wait to see what you do. It is fun If you try the spray let us know the results. Id be curious if it works. A spray sure would be easier for organics

I think anyone who does electroforming has hands that look like that! I'd probably where some of those disposable gloves while I was doing the painting part to keep it to a minimum.

The gloves drive me nuts. It washes off pretty easy. Although I did wake up this morning with dried superglue all over

I buy the surgical disposable gloves. They fit tight so their easy to maneuver in. I wear them for really dirty jobs like cabbing apache gold or boulder opal. Saves a lot of time in terms of trying to get all the crud off my hands and under my fingernails.

I'm not a fan of sweaty hands, either, so I take them off just as soon as I'm done. I've heard you can put some powder in them to help with the sweating, but I've never tried it. Too lazy. LOL!

When I will be wearing gloves for a while, I put Mentholatum on my hands. It reduces sweat and is a great moisturizer.

fantastic5 No worries on the acorns. Neighbor and I spent about 2 hours walking the woods yesterday. We gathered a lot of Ali stuff. Everything is drying on my mantle now and will be sent shortly. There about 20 different varieties.

Will try to get some more acorns. Most in my yard are hidden under lawn mowing grass.
If you have any suggestions on the safest way to package what I found for shipment, let me know. Was thinking of using sealed foam core sheets and layering items between that. Each layer would be sealed to prevent movement. Would my taping the items down to each sheet interfere with the electroplating? Just do not want them to move around and be damaged.

fernwood I wouldn't tape them down. Some of the sticky stuff will stay on there. Just an idea, but what about putting them in a box filled with foam peanuts so they don't move around and then putting that box in another slightly larger box that has some padding (newspaper?) around the sides to stabilize it. I would worry more about the box getting mushed than the acorns getting damaged in the mail.
I'm sure MsAli would have all kinds of fun picking through peanuts to find the acorns!

I'm sure MsAli would have all kinds of fun picking through peanuts to find the acorns! I'd be like a little squirrel I wouldnt tape them. If anything maybe put the acorns in a plastic bag and leaves can be sandwiched in between cardboard

MsAli what do you think about sweet gum seed pods? Too big? (little smaller than a golf ball) Too many crevices? We have a lot in the woods here.
