I have boxes and boxes of slabs of all kinds. I'm thinking of just boxing them up in medium flat rate boxes, grab and box, mystery contents, etc.... for maybe $40 per box plus postage? OT will sell all to anyone interested that lives close by. There are probably a couple hundred pounds total. Or would small flat rate boxes be better for $25 plus postage? What do you all think? Thanks!

I also have several buckets of unslabbed rough that I bought over the years, but never got around to...

I’d pay $40 for a medium flat rate box of slabs. Any hints as to the possible contents?

will let you know. First I've got to get out there and set up a bunch of boxes so I can go down the line putting a slab in one by one to make sure all are equal in variety. Will be nice to get my garage space back... <grin> Not having done this before very much, should I wrap each slab in newspaper or something to prevent breakage or just let er rip and buyer gets what the USPS delivers?

If it's nothing but slabs I wrap with newspaper, if mixed with rough or lots of more fragile stuff I tape them to pieces of cardboard that are cut to fit the box and stack them in.

I got a box once with no paper or cardboard. Not only would I not pay again for something like that, but I would complain until the last person on the planet heard me. All I got in the box was chips of what may have been nice. I would like to suggest that you tape them to cardboard and layer them. No need for paper.

There is definitely no predicting whether someone will "go postal" on a heavy flat rate box, I have recieved a few that were pretty rounded out. The last slabs I got online came from Roy, each was in a padded mailer and the mailers were wrapped in bubble wrap inside of the usps padded mailer. Of course they were high end slabs.

That's where you have to weigh the situation. Phil is offering a good price, not sure how much expenditure of packing labor and materials he wants to invest in it. Also if he were to carefully pack the MFR box with padding then the number of slabs would be significantly decreased. I just bought a bunch of flat rate boxes of slabs from Di/drocknut and she stuffed them gull with no padding and no real damage. A box of mystery slabs requires enough numbers to cover the unknown at a reasonable price. Ultimately it's up to Phil. Just my 2 cents.

my mailman gets all pissy if I pack them tight so they weigh too much... I'm sure they abuse them as they make their way cross country. I'll pack lightly for best of both worlds.
