I love the S. American agates and over the last couple of years have accumulated a few Rio Negro agates from the agate lady (Anna?) at Quartzite. I'll try to include a few examples in this thread. It has a booboo on the face but . . . Here's one I have not polished, but happens to be naturally windowed. As I understand it they are not from Rio Negro province, but instead from a river close to the capitol. Below is the wraparound of the same agate. Another. Below is a slab cut off of the face of one of these and then tumbled in the vibe. This last one is probably 4 agates in one; each of the rounded masses is apparently a distinct set of whorls and layers. I'm tempted to cut it apart with the saw, but then I would have 4 plain agates.

Her name is indeed Anna. She lives about 30 miles from us and visits our club once a year or so. Plus she goes to our club show.
Maybe I need to look closer. Your pieces are super nice!

Beautiful agates Tom Peruano. I was especially attracted to the last agate. An optical illusion of flowing around the pen.. sort of like a clock in a Salvador Dali painting flowing over a table edge. Lol!

I had not noticed the optical illusion, but it jumps at me now that you have pointed it out. I added a complex agate to the string of photos above.
