...and not really photography, either. Our house had this ratty old birdhouse mounted on the old clothesline pole. Planned on taking it down just because it looked, well, ratty. Hadn't gotten it done yet and won't for a while. Turns out a pair of mountain bluebirds have set up housekeeping in there. Keep trying to get a picture with both of them but they don't seem to want to cooperate. Turns out they are the state bird of Nevada. So, here are separate pictures of them almost a month ago when they were hauling in nesting materials. This evening we watched the male bringing food in, we assume she is setting eggs. Or watching tv and eating bon bons, who can tell? The male The female
Kind of neat. Hopefully I can post some rocks in the next few days. Thanks for looking.

Nice pictures. I love watching birds. We had a flock of mountain bluebirds pass through this spring. They liked the berries on the Virgina creepers growing on the wall of the greenhouse. They feasted on those for a week or so and once they were gone, they moved on. Was cool seeing them because they normally are at the higher elevations in the pines.
Thanks for sharing.

I've had Eastern Bluebirds nesting in a box in my yard for over 12 years now. My favorite thing to do is sit outside in the evening after the babies fledged and watch them try to learn to catch the moths and insects that start to come out in the late evening. They are so comical. They get laser focused on a moth and crash into the ground or each other. Its a quick learning curve for them. They only look like a 3 Stooges movie for a few evenings. But its a great show!
