These are some deep pits from bulk SiC #8 grit+ on glass after 1 day. Looks EXACT same after 1 day if SiC 60 is used. The reason is because the rotary can only push the grit into the glass but so hard. The problem with heavy 8 grit is getting it to circulate, must use slurry. The #8 gets used over and over, the glass is slow to break it down. No frosting or bruises because barrel is 85% full and running milk shake clay slurry. To remove pits only takes 12 hours in SiC 500 w/same clay slurry at a slower 30 RPM. Glass is soft, SiC 500 will shave those deep pits off in hours at 30 RPM. Run it 2 more days in AO 500 w/clay/30 RPM and it is totally vibe ready. Soft materials can be faster. Best to use more steps. Short runs is OK, but lots of steps. Polishing soft is fast if you have a gentle vibe and hard media. Key is soft vibe, Lot-O is gentle, I will say too soft to do 220/500 steps quickly. Perfect for quick polish. ![](https://c2.staticflickr.com/2/1721/42536454572_b435bb19ae_c.jpg) ![](https://c2.staticflickr.com/2/1743/40780716570_1b0bf6f53e_c.jpg) This is before entering rotary. ![](https://c2.staticflickr.com/2/1745/41792673664_7df9c4bf7e_c.jpg)
