Thought I'd start one thread to post all the driveway rock I've been rolling. So here it begins. Latest batch that came out about a week ago. Sorry the pics are so dark. Not sure what happened there. I would retake the pictures but I now have them in a bowl with all the other driveway rocks and I'm not sure I could pick out which ones came out of the last batch. Oh well. Enjoy and Thanks for looking. Otter

That's driveway rock?! That's one heck of a driveway you have! Nicely done, nicely shaped, nicely polished. You have 2 red rocks in the lower-left side of the photo that look remarkably like some of the red so-called quartzite I posted yesterday in the "Dog's breakfast pics"....do you know for certain what this is? (I don't). Kind of a scary, distorted face in that big dark rock in the upper right side of your photo....

Great picture otter! I'm a new member in here and I collect rocks from the beach and when I go hiking. I have some rocks that look like the white ones you have, are they quartz? I don't know yet how to identy R&Ms. Do you tumble all of them together. I will be getting my tumbler next week and I'm not sure if I should just try tumbling all of my rocks together. You must have a very large tumble for those big ones! Bye now

[glow=purple,3,300]WOW! That is some really nice driveway rock. I think I'm just going to grab a bucket of whatever next time I hit the gravel pit. That's very very nice!

I get the feeling that we are all jealous of your driveway rocks. If I were you I would get a huge guard dog if not you will soon be without all those gems in waiting. ;D You did a great job on them. Thanks for the pics Jack

Thanks all for the kind words. The driveway rock is really alot of fun because I never know what I'll end up with. I agree Ron, it never ceases to amaze me how beautiful some of this seemingly ordinary rock turns out once tumbled. Rollingstone....funny you should say that because I called this whole batch quartzite. Not for sure if that is what it is. It is certainly a type of quartz though. Moonstone....yup all quartz. There is even one in there that looks like rose quartz. Had to check twice to be sure I accidentally didn't get a piece of the rose quartz mixed in with the batch. But nope I didn't. All those rolled in one of my 3# Lortone barrels. What's missing from this photo is another large white one I did for my Dad. It went back to him before I had a chance to take the pic. Sands....yes that one is kinda purplish. It's really cool. I had some close up pics of these, but the night I posted this one my dedicated site went down and this pic was all I got up. John....well it would be easy for you to get a driveway like mine, but I don't think you'd want to pay the fee for trucking it from my Dad's gravel pit to your house!! KD....this batch went through plain old aluminum oxide. Jack....I do have 2 large dogs. Problem is one just barks at you and runs and hides. The other one won't guard the rocks. He will however stand right where you are looking hoping to get a scratch. That at least might slow ya down! Otter
