That galaxy wouldn't be a friendly place. Periodic jets from the black hole would sterilize wide swathes of any systems in or around it. Worrying enough to be in the neighborhood of a star going supernova, let alone this.

There's a voracious black hole at the center of our own galaxy and a long time from now it will gobble up all the stars in the Milky Way. Burp!
