This is mostly obsidian running at 85 RPM. 7 inch home made 8 pound capacity HDPE barrel with Fernco cap. The SiC 60 has broken down to about 150. The obsidian is ready for next stage. The blue tray will be left alone for a couple of days till the grit settles on the bottom. Then the clean water will be poured off and the tray set aside under shed so the sludge will dry for the next clean out. After about 8 to 10 similar clean outs the grit sludge on the bottom will get scraped off and put in a container for using again. Instead of dealing with the unused SiC every clean out. The water source is gravity fed from a pipe through a dam of a lake and can be used at coldest winter temps. It can be left running till the muddy slurry has completely washed away from the overflow of the blue pan and the heavier SiC is left on bottom. An abrasive seperation system so to speak. The slurry thickener is mostly local clay.
