Got a box of rocks from a friend. Originally his uncle's the box has been in my friends mom's garage since 1979 or 80. First a jasper, grey to blue grey sometimes light blue background. Bands/lines shades of brownish red to orange with some yellow. Outer rind very rough. IMG_4650 by Ken Vancil, on Flickr Second rock is soft. Scratch testing puts it around 4 in both the green and white areas. Has some dendrites also present in both colors. Several pieces showing range of features/etc. IMG_4645 by Ken Vancil, on Flickr IMG_4646 by Ken Vancil, on Flickr Thanks in advance for any help.

Well, green is too soft for vesuvianite (6.5) or prehnite 6-6.5)

green maybe...chlorite? Prettier than any chlorite I've seen, though.

First one looks like a rhyolite. Second does indeed look like serpentine (lizardite variety).

@rocks2dust has it. The first is rhyolite and the second is serpentine.

Don't know the first, but the green one could be serpentine. Nice!

I'd also say serpentine on the green. Other probably is wonderstone type rhyolite or the high silica sort like that found near Goldfield, Nevada that some call bullseye agate.....Mel
