here is some of the rock i got from Redwoodrocks, i had originally thought it was the koi jasper, but it isn't....haha. this is gorgeous stuff, unfortunately i didn't get the shine i was hoping for....i did a week in 60/90 and they smoothed very nicely, a week in 220, a week in 600, a week in the aluminum oxide polish and then a week in Tin Ox.....i just got the Titanium Dioxide today...maybe i will try that next? anyway, shine or no shine, the stone is interesting: as always, your comments are appreciated! KD

KD, you aren't kidding that stuff is interesting. Amazing designs you can see in it. I see a few pieces that I think would make awesome pendants or pins. Great job, hope you can get it to the shine you want.

PS .. What's the difference between the two polishes you did in the last two steps?

just gorgeous. did you cut them all with your saw before tumbling them? i never have any rocks that are ready to move on after 1 wk in 60/90. i'm jealous of that!!

KD, those are awesome stones! Just keep chuggin' away and I am sure you will put a shine on them! And when you find the one that does it, I know we can depend on you to let us know what it is! ;D I have a number of stones that have not polished well in aluminum oxide, tin oxide, the Raytech polish or the generic polish I got at our local rock shop. I saving them up until they make a full batch, then will send them back thru pre-polish and try a different polish on them - as soon as I get another kind! LOL! i never have any rocks that are ready to move on after 1 wk in 60/90.Me either, Kim. Not in the rotary or the vibe, even when I cut them with the saw! KD, it's time you shared your secret with us! llana

Hello KD,
I have to submit my favorite ... it's the one in the first photo just to the lower left of the large one in the center. It looks like a Kansas tornado!
Nice batch ... keep us up to date on the polishing progress.
Enjoy,
John

YES, Yes yes,... Do the Titanium. I've done a few batches of Autmn Jasper, and have one going now with some stuff I got from Redwoodrocks and WilliamC. The Titanium Kicks butt on that stuff! You will not believe how good they will come out. You are in for a very pleasant surprise ;D ;D

sold to the woman in the funny hat! iw as about to just cut my losses but if you think it is worthwhile, Banjo, i will try it....just one question...should i put them back in prepolish for any length of time or go straight into the Titanium Diox?
Rocky, yes all precut, very clean batch with the intent for jewelry on my mind. when i tumble real rough, it takes longer than one week in course. no hidden secrets, llanago....sorry to admit!
Sands, i was thinking that big sucker in the middle would make a nice bola tie....
Bear, i thought that one piece looked like a tornado too! some fascinating patterns in this stuff.
Deepsouth, the next photo will MESMORIZE (i hope)!!
thanks for all the comments and help! KD

A hurricane is in the southern hemisphere, a typhoon is in the northern hemisphere. I remember that from a movie. I believe they turn in different directions as well, because of the earths magnetic center. TMDC (Too much Discovery Channel) Toilets flush differently in the northern hemesphere as well. Right, Deepsouth? Tornados are the same as cyclones, just depends where you live.

That is interesting that you all think its a tornado, because the moment i saw that rock it made me think of the Eiffel Tower! I can see the tornado though, but I think its more the Eiffel Tower. either way, those rocks are great. Good job krazydiamond ;D ;D ;D

Just throw them in the titanium. No need to back up. They'll be done in 4 days. After all, the tin and aluminum have already done the job of a pre-polish
