KD, my opinion is to put them in titanium without an additional prepolish, on the basis that these stones are already incredibly clean and partially polished, suggesting that there was nothing wrong with your prepolish.
Not to sound like a broken record or anything, I've got a bunch of stuff that resembles that, and have had the same problem.
