Very interesting! I also found some kind of matrix around here. They vary in size from 1 - 3" so far. Thought they were just black rocks. Kept them because they seemed unusally heavy. Not until after rinsing them did I noticed all the different stones. After seeing what you have inside, I think I will crack one in half.

OK, I got it. It's fossilized bubble gum that was stuck to the bottom of a dinasaurs foot. Picked up some stuff when he walked and finaly fell off. Seriously, it does look, to my untrained eye, like fossilized sea creatures. Some of it lookks like barnecels, some like, what do they call them, Trylobytes? Very intresting. And 69beepers rock looks very similar. Good luck identifying it.

I cookie that they look like small fossilized sea creatures, but then why would they be crystalized inside? Very interesting Bunny! [glow=blue,2,300][/glow]

Hello Bunny Those are very interesting rocks Bunny! I don't know how to recognize rocks yet but I'm trying to learn. The ideas that I have are that these rocks look like they are made of petrified mud/sand and it also looks like they had some kind of eggs inside (like lizard eggs maybe). Are you able to break this rocks by hand? Do you know how to check for their hardness? there are a couple of links here to learn how to check for rock hardness and that might give you an idea of your rocks composition: www.rocksandminerals.com/hardness/mohs.htmwww.amfed.org/t_mohs.htmGood luck and I hope that you find out what they are, I'm also curious about them!

Hey BCBunny,
From where I sit, they look like some kind of basalt porphiry. That...or my homemade brownies. They probably taste better than my brownies. hehehehehe What part of the country do you live in?

Hi,
I live in british columbia, canada.
I checked for hardness, with a penny it left a mark, but when I ran my finger over the mark it vanished, I tried a knife and it marked it and it didnt go away when I ran my finger over it.

You never know what you will get until you try, if you don't want to lose all of it in the tumbler just put a few pieces in.

Ok Bunny...don't get mad.
The top picture looks like fossilized dino dodo.
Actually I found something similar to it here...except I thought it was a sedimentary rock of sorts (had fine colored bands in it). Mine broke up fairly easily, but when I tumbled a piece it literally disintegrated. :-( Oh well....
