I had a chance to go to the Last Chance mine in Creede, CO last month. It's an interesting tour in one of the most amazing spots in Colorado. While there I grabbed about 20 pounds of sowbelly rough and finally had a chance to slab some. First slab off the saw... Attachments:

We made it there one Summer too. He didn't have the tours yet then. He had a big tailings pile though. A better name would be Amethyst lace agate but everyone around there knows it as "Sow belly". The town below is a tourist trap historic mining town but interesting to see. We collected amethyst pebbles near the underground fire station in the stream. They have a fire station and I think city offices tunneled into a hillside. Reportedly they built it underground after the original fire station embarrassingly burned down.
