Hello All! I’ve been going thru all the slabs that I have and was wondering if anyone knows what this might be? I got it from a woman in a lapidary class I took last month and I think she rockhounded it herself somewhere in Utah, but I could be wrong.

Don't know about the matrix but appears to have pyrite inclusions and some silvery metal, maybe galena. These occur together in rocks I have found in Central Nevada.

Testing hardness is quite useful. Will a copper penny scratch it? A steel knife blade? A fingernail? Broken glass?
James is spot on with the sulfides. Scratch testing will help confirm.
