This is a necklace I made using seaglass and freshwater pearls. Okay...it's not REALLY seaglass...it's a blue fancy water bottle I busted up and tumbled to fake seaglass. I'm pretty happy with it. Then I drilled it and added the beads. Thanks to krazydiamond I think I got it about the right length. This is my most recent batch. three weeks in 60/90 ten days in 220, ten days in 500 and about a week in aluminum oxide with lots of plastic pellets. the rocks are all small, most running about the size of a quarter. I like the shine...not too bad considering I have basically no clue what I'm doing.

Hermatite, Lovely necklace and stones! (Looks like alot of work went into the necklace!)
In the short while I've been on the forums, it's amazing how much I've learned.
*sees sodalite, crazy lace agate, rose quartz, green adventurine?, jasper, dalmation? something or another? * (brain fizzled out....)
All of them look beautiful, even if I don't know what they all are! I've been looking for a place to buy some crazy lace agate....that stuff looks awesome!

Emerald, I just got some crazy lace agate from Berg's Rock Shop along with some other rocks. There is mexican mix and mexican agates, but don't get those. Get the actual mexican crazy lace, you'll see it. It's only 4.60/lb, and they are really nice there. It came the other day, and i was really impressed at all the intricate little ribbons in it, especially for rough. This was the first time i've seen it before in real life. Here's a link: www.bergsrockshop.com/cgi-bin/product.php?item=Rough%20Rocks%20to%20tumble

That's what you get when you order a mixed batch from the rockshed. I even got a couple of pieces of tigereye...lots of agate. It's a mix I'm really happy with because I just look at it and I can imagine any number of projects.

Herm, that's lovely! You did a great job. Looks like something one could find in an upscale jewelry store. Not that I have ever been in an upscale jewelry store! Nice batch of stones too! llana

Looks like a great piece of jewellery you've created. Nice batch of tumbled stones too! My favourites are the agate with the circles in it on the lower right side of the photo, and the rounded stone with the red, tan, and blue in, just a bit to the upper-left of the piece of sodalite at the bottom of the photo.
I keep looking for the tiger eye but maybe I'm too blind to see it...is it the stone at the very bottom of the photo, a bit right of centre?
Nice mix of stones. What do you think of the turitella from Rockshed? I bought some awhile back and ended up throwing most of it out after 10 days in 60/90. It just had too many pits and areas of soft white matrix rock for me to hold out much hope for it. Can't tell if you had the same problem or if I just got a bum batch.

lol good eye for the tiger eye there. I should have really picked out some nice ones ones for a separate photo, but I didn't want to completely impose on you folks.

i don't think you could impose too many rock photos and creations on me. kind of like having too many rocks - it's just not possible!
