More from beefjello . This time some Pet Wood. Also threw in some random driveway finds to complete the load. Wanted to get a polished effect on the pet wood, without removing all of the bark. Some had no bark when I put them in. 19 days between a course grit and a rough aquarium gravel/sand/kitty litter mix. Most had already started getting a luster to them. Decided to skip the medium step. They are now in a medium and pre-polish combo tumble. \ A learning experience for sure. I did not want to have any more of the surfaces ground off. Running out of course grit may have been a blessing. My favorites are second photo, top left and last photo, second from left, on top row. What’s yours? pw 1 pw 2 pw 3 pw 4

All look pretty good...... I roll all my tumbled stones naturally, no grinding to shape.... My buyers like it that way, showing the stone in it's natural beauty..

Lookin' good, love the natural look. I don't think I've run a batch in months that doesn't have a piece of Petrified Wood in it, finished one last night and there was one nice little piece of it. I'm really trying to find a good use for mine, I like it as much as anything I tumble.

i really like the natural look as well. gives them more character. it always feels like time travel to peek into the beauty of these ancient formations (or stone trees in this case!). it seems like a part of our job as humans to uncover, discover, then put in some of our own sweat and creativity into highlighting the hidden beauty of this world.

Exactly. I am all about this philosophy, not only with rocks/fossils/jewelry, but with wood, vines and other natural items. To me a rock does not need to be void of pits/groves and have a mirror like finish. Some are better showcased with high gloss, but others are better left more natural. JMHO
