Just my way of saying thankyou to the many people on RTH. I have learned so much here. Am at times overwhelmed at the kindness of members. The contest: I will post 3 photos of the total items included in a SFRB box (with a coin for size reference) prior to packing items and taping box. The thickness of the items will range from 1/8” to 3/8”. I will not state what types of packing materials or tape were used. Participants can guess the total weight of the taped box once per 24 hour period, in a format of pounds and ounces to the thousandths. Example of 22.492 lbs. Nope, a SFRB would never hold this much, just format for responses. I will check responses several times per day. If someone is spot on, will post that and they are the winner. If at the end of 2 weeks, no one has guessed the total weight, then the closest guess will win. If there is a tie for closest weight, I will post such and those participants will be given one more guess for total weight. The person closest will win. The prize: A SFRB of slabs, slabetttes and preforms. These were all won, purchased, gifted, or traded for on RTH. Some are my finds that were cut by another. Sources are: rockjunquie drocknut manofglass toiv0 Dr DG stardiamond a few others (cannot remember who) and the latest Traveling Rock Box. The description: I will compile a SFRB of above items, provide suitable packing materials, tape the box for shipment and weigh. I am encouraging anyone who could use the material to play along. Who doesn’t love a good guessing game? If the winner has no use for the material, then I encourage them to donate it to RTH for the next round of auctions. I would send directly to Tommy if the winner chooses. Or, if upon receipt, the winner can do the same after inspecting the contents. The box contains a nice variety of items so far. Just waiting for my scale to arrive. Once I have the scale, will post photos of box contents, prepare for shipping and weigh. Then the contest will begin. I will update the title of this thread then.

To avoid confusion, you might want to clarify: 22.492 lbs. or 22 lbs 7.872 oz... Stupid metric system indeed.

Good catch. Will clarify when scale arrives. Scale is supposed to weigh in lbs/ozs to the thousandths.

Need to rethink how I am going weigh the prize for this contest. This is the “digital” scale my neighbor wanted to sell me. She said it weighed to the thousandths. She ended up giving it to me. So, any thoughts on how I could use this to get an accurate weight for the contest? Local PO will not weigh the box for me, nor will local grocery stores I asked. Do not want to purchase a new scale. Only other scale I have weighs in pounds and tenths of a pound. This is some nice material, so do not want to make it too easy to win. scale

weigh it, estimate the number to the thousandth place with your eye. that'll give you three digits, call it good.

Bathroom scale only goes to tenths. Thinking I am going to clean up the neighbors scale and use that.

Looks like you could mess with us all and pick one of the calorie readouts for us to guess about.
