Well I'm back from vacation. Looks like I'll be able to catch up on the boards fairly quickly. And we have a new chat room. Cool. Kids had a great time. Hubby and I had a good time, well, as good a time as we were going to have with a 6 and 8 year old in tow. But we are back to the same old grind now. Actually no grind yet. I haven't had a chance to get the tumblers rolling again. The utility room is too darn quiet. Hoping I'll have a chance to do it tonight. Well I hope everyone had a good week and that no one got washed or blown away in the thunderstorms that rolled through various parts of the US last week.
I'm hoping to have some pics to post of the apache tears that came off right before we left. I'll get those up as soon as possible.

welcome back! glad y'all had a good time. can't wait to see your pics. as soon as i get this boot thing off my foot i'm going on vacation too - counting the days. i'm not going to restart the 2 barrels that hopefully will be finished before then and i'm going to leave the others rolling. or maybe i should shut them all down - decisions, decisions. i'm more worried about leaving this basset hound behind. i so wanted to take him with us but they didn't have any pet friendly beach houses available.

were in Indiana do u live? I live in Lafayette. I was in Raboul, Ill this weekend at a tractor show and we got hit by one of those nasty storms. There were tents set up selling toy tractor replicas and they blew away and there toys floated away. They said in the hour and a half that it rained they got almost 5 inches. But by the next day it wasn't very muddy. That was good.

Well, sad to say I was unable to bring back any rocks. Never had the chance. The only time we left the Walt Disney World Resort was when we were being transported to and from the airport. But maybe we will have the chance later this fall as we are considering a weekend trip to Wisconsin. Brett, I live near Huntington. I live in the country near a small town but since no one has ever heard of it it's easier to say Huntington. We were watching on the weather channel as some of those nasty storms went through. I know one of the storms last week had strong enough straight line winds to blow the roof off one of the hangars at the Huntington airport. It also through some 2x4's into the side of another hangar and damaged a plane inside. Kinda glad I wasn't here! KD, yes I finally decided what to roll next. Decided to do some more amethyst. Gonna try to prep some of these for hubby's faceting attempts. Figure he will need some decent sized pieces for his first few attempts. Don't think he'll be ready for the peridot for awhile yet. Anyway, I finally got the barrels rolling last night. I've been so bombarded with family obligations this week that last night was the first chance I've had. How pathetic is my life! Still trying to find time to take those pics. Maybe tomorrow! Now watch it be cloudy all day! Otter
