Hi all, Cher and i traded some rough the other day and she wanted to see what it looked like inside, figured you'd all like to see the surprise inside.... gonna tumble nicely, don't you think? and here is something she sent, i thought it lloked kinda like granite, but once i cut it, i'm not so sure. it was kind of soft, so it might crumble instead of tumble... thanks for looking, hope your weekend is going great! kd wonder if you started the ones you think are too soft at 120/220? even if they won't take a polish they would still look great shaped. looks like candy corn or shredded carrots up in there - very cool. and the prairie agates should be beautiful!

HOLY MOLY .. If I had know it was going to look like that inside, I'd have stolen the money to get more. Spent my last $1.00 on that so I'd have something to trade. LOL WOW that other rock is cool too. I was curious to know if those marks went all the way through. I have one in 500 right now, it went through #80 with no problem at all. Thats really different. Thanks for posting them KD. [glow=red,2,300] ~ Cher ~[/glow] pages.prodigy.net/bestsmileys1/signs/RockOn.gif [/img]

potato on the outside, magic on the inside. i was gonna post these private to you, Cher, but hey, we all like rocks so.............
if this isn't enough to convince you that you NEED a saw i don't know what else is. needless to say i was extremely happy with the rock. i will post the finished batch in a month or so. more like two, i got a back log now.....never enough tumblers.
Herm, it is like christmas, each and every cut a discovery, not ALL of them spectacular, but enough to keep you going....one more, then one more, like lottery tickets, except you never really lose!

KD, I just whack up some quartz I found today and right in the middle of thos fist sized rock was a piece of smokey quartz, solid and gleeming, about 2 inches long, 1/2 an inch thick. The rest of the rock was usesless, but thr "prize" was in the middle. When I found it I told my husband "I wish I had a saw, I can see where I need to cut and not risk braking it". Truer words never said. I need a saw.

Moonstone, I found those things all over along the shore of Lake Superior. Don't know what it is but it seems to be polishing nicely. I'll know in another week or so, it's in pre polish now.

Hi Cher;D You're very lucky living near Lake Superior so many gorgeous rocks in your area! I'll be looking forward to see your pics, I really like the last ones and I think they will turn out great! I'm to enter in my pre-polish stage so I will be posting my pics more or less around your time as well. Had a lot of rocks that needed to stay in stage one for better shaping.Bye now!
