Well yesterday I was fixing to finish My second batch Of Lake Michigan Lakers but was very disappointed when I took a couple out of each of the LOT O's and out of the UV-18. on Some were very small pits with white polish in them and they weren't quite as SHINEY as they should be. On the first batch I only went to 1.5 micron 13,000 and they looked great. On this batch I ordered some RAPID POLISH .3 Micron or 80,000 grit so I expected a really high luster shine. After burnishing them I thought a minute and came to the conclusion that they needed a few more weeks in the tumblers to get the (BRAD PITTS) ta hell off of em! what I feel happened the Pitts cross contaminated the next steps in the polishing process so I cleaned them best I could and back in the 80 grit they go for two weeks where I will move to 220 grit and then switch to the the 4 stages of AO Polish 500, 1000, 13,000, 80.000 next time I will get out the eYe loupe after the 220 SIC grit and see if all the BRAD PITTS are gone. I understand what the stones will tell you means. You live and learn and boy did I. Well Hi HO Hi Ho 5 + Weeks to Go!
