Hi everyone, I have a piece of chert from my father-in-law’s property - it is approximately 5” x 6”. It is about 5 inches thick. I’d really like to face the front of it with a saw and flat lap polish it to a nice shine. I don’t have any of these materials to do this. Is anyone willing to try and take this on for me? If so please PM me for details and what you would ask, time isn’t a factor (well within a few months). I would like to surprise him with this piece after it is finished.
Really just need someone with a saw and flat lap!!
Thanks so much,
Grant

It can be done, and woodman is one who can do it, but let me point out this is not a trivial task. Slicing a stone that big will take time, and polishing it will take even more.

Dave,
Thanks.
Could not figure out how to do that from my phone. I usually only post my pics and such from my desktop and the mobile layout was a bit more confusing.
Thanks again.
