I like the Saddle Mtn but it's a bit to pricey if you ask me ... but that's what I think about most Ebay rock shops. I barely even look at Ebay anymore for that reason.

Those prices are out of my range, most Ebay rough is.

I bought 3 pieces of top grade horse canyon for $22 delivered. I don't know how many cabs I will get from it, but it looks like a bargain based on what I saw on etsy. I'll post the pieces here when I get them. I thought the prices are high but they all have free shipping and make offer. I think the seller would have done well putting the horse on auction so I did a straight buy it now.
This is the second slab/rough ebay purchase I've made recently. Prior to that it was nothing for a few years. I look and wait....look and wait
I want very good stuff and want to pay a reasonable price, but it costs nothing to look. Opportunities do arise.

I've seen horse canyon auctions get pretty high, so you did good.
I have to buy slabs and I get most of them on ebay. I do a lot of waiting, too. The deals do come around, but you have to be on top of it. I recently got a real big super gemmy larimar cab listed in the slab section for 25 bucks! It is worth at least 250.00. That's going in my stash. I got another from the same seller for cheap, too. That one became a pendant. Needless to say, I watch his auctions now.
But, yeah, ebay slabs can get really high. Too high. I don't bid up on some sellers. They have insane clients with deep pockets. I have champagne taste on a beer budget!

That "Biggs" is going pretty cheap...I tried selling some on here, for about the same price, but no takers..."Biggs" is premium material.. There are some fair sellers still on Ebay, I found a few last winter.. The best ones were from Idaho and southern Oregon..

I use ebay. less than I used to because I also use fb groups, and Lubbock has a yearly show.
You can find deals on slabs and rough if you wait, and you can find slabs that are not discounted, but the pattern is above average - thats a deal too. Still, the slabs I bought for $3 to $7 in 2000 and are now $8 to $19. I think this is the whole market and not just ebay. One exception might be bins of misc slabs at shows - still bargains there.
This seller has overall limited range of color and pattern. A lot of wood, jadite, thulite, and very much Brazilian. I like colorful patterned jaspers, so maybe just not my seller. The prices seem in line with others, or maybe $1 higher. Saddle mountain is sought after, and the price was in line with what I have seen. It also had scenic quality that saddle Mtn is know for.
Personally, not ready to follow this seller; but ...

This seller is having a lot of problems. They aren't shipping. Two weeks after I placed my order, the items haven't shipped. With buyer protection it can't really be scam. Selling is a pita and I was willing to be patient but a week after my order they were still adding items. I sent a message and got no reply and took it to the next level. In a few days ebay will get involved. I don't want my money back, I want what I ordered. Hopefully, ebay can exert some pressure to get them to ship.

That's strange. I just looked at his feedback. It says zero feedback, but 50% feedback rating. There have been 3 comments/feedback left. Shouldn't it say 3 and not zero?

Negative feedback subtracts from the total feedback.

If you click on the 0 you will see their feedback, so far 2 negatives and a positive. Don't know how that adds up to 50%

Their slabs look about like what I expect to find in the 50 cents or maybe dollar slab bins at a show. He'll be gone soon.

Started out with buying from Ebay a long time ago (mostly stamps at first, in late 90's), but stopped completely as shipping prices went through the roof from the American continent. Never mind other problems that have become the norm over time, but the cost of shipping was certainly the number one reason for me to stop even looking at anything Ebay or Etsy.

His items are overpriced, but what I've seen in the slab trays at shows is nothing I need. I have better. I can't understand how someone could keep listing items and not ship. Tomorrow I am allowed to have ebay intervene. I don't want my money back, I want the horse canyon. It is the nicest I've seen for a very long time.

You need to find a mule; a person who can receive shipments in the U.S. and either hand deliver the items or group them together for reshipment. Amazon is good at combining orders. Ebay and etsy with separate sellers is more difficult. Back when I did a lot of ebay buying I would buy or bid on items from a seller who had multiple items I was interested in. Price is cost delivered.
