I know this is from Owyhee, but I'm not sure what it is called. It was on the softer side of jasper and took a good polish. I'll post better pics later if needed. This was taken under halogen lights, but the colors are right. Maybe a little less yellow. Thnaks!

Looks like right colors and "flying saucer" orbs found in some of the more colorful Owyhee Sunset jasper.

the flying saucer are right, but the color is a little bold for Sunset. Still, could be. Could also be a variety of Owhyee Chinese Dendritic Jasper.

I remember sending out smallish slabs maybe 2x2 or 2x3 of this material to several people you being one of them. If it is my stuff then it's from the same rock as this one

AWESOME!!! So glad that is figured out...... now what do I call it? I already listed it and I'll have to change it. Thank you! Well... that's a good question. Honestly, things are so convoluted up on the hill with all the names flying around you could call it whatever you want at this point and be fairly accurate. I found it in the Dead Camel mountains before Phil and Jeffrey and who knows who else started claiming and naming in the area. I was originally calling it Lahontan jasper or Lahontanite and that would be perfectly acceptable because it came just a rock throw from the original Lahontanite claim. The name Lahontan jasper wasn't catching on and selling so I eventually started calling it Dragon jasper because of the red lines resembling fire in some pieces - some more pronounced than others and even resembling Noreena jasper. That piece in my last post picture sold as Dragon Jasper. This piece which may or may not have come from the same rock (I didn't find very many with that pronounced yellow) and it sold as Lahontanite.

Yay! glad I could help. Your's is a beautiful cabochon btw. You have motivated me to go find what's left of the rock and see if I can cut more off it. I know it's in my back yard somewhere.

I could have sworn it was an Owyhee find. It even looks a lot like the Sunset jasper. It's pretty stuff and teaches me to be better about labeling- which I am lazy about. DOH!

I found pictures of a couple of other pieces I made from it. Weirdly I found them by googling Lahontanite when they are both listed as Dragon Jasper in Flickr. Sadly they are on my original Flickr account that I am hopelessly locked out of because of assinine Yahoo.
