I go to play with some that I haven't messed with in a while and I worked on a chunk of Hampton Butte green pet wood from rockpickerforever Jean. I am in love with that cab. I did a Blue Biggs that seemed opalized. Can Biggs be opalized? It polished much better than any I have ever worked on and a fractured edge looked opalized. A couple I posted elsewhere and include here. I am calling this Jockey' Blood because I found some identical online. This was a small cut off that I saved. Noreena because I haven't done any in a while Hampton Butte. The little stress fractures don't show up as much in person and I don't mind them. This is really nice. I love the little red pieces of grain pattern. Guadalupe jasper- A super thin one- waste not want not Blue Biggs- This took near an hour to do. It was super thick and a big cup shaped fracture opened up in the middle. I had to grind down to a near flat face to get rid of it. But I like it so it was worth the trouble. a little piece of bone- the shape got wonky. 50mm of goodness. mushroom rhyolite - haven't done one of these in awhile either. That slab had some great patterns! Owyhee sunset jasper breccciated red jasper Rosalinda from Peru- big cab. Doesn't photograph so great against white.

I've got a bigger chunk of the Hampton Butte green wood. It is too big for the small saw I have. It's a yard rock.
I think I sent you some of the opalized petrified wood, too, didn't I? That cabs up real nice, too. The same rough, well, maybe a different piece but from the same location (originally Nevada), as the Pharoah's head ring I posted.

You did send some opal and some of it does look like that pretty ring. I put out a call for wood for a client and you stepped right on up.

Every one of your stones tells a story. And from their other worldly patterning and colors they all came from 1960's SyFi pulp covers. Live long and prosper.

Another great set! My favorite is the Rosalinda. It would be interesting to see it photographed against a pinkish background.
