just hooked these out of the polish today, about the only good thing that has happened today (long story, still picking nails out of my teeth...) anyway, i took some pics outside but you couldn't see much of the nice rock, so i took one inside too. this is the tigereye that i got from Redwoodrocks and with a lot of advice from Banjo, here is my first purebred batch. outside inside most of these i preformed on the saw, then: 2 weeks 60/90 (recharge after 1 week) 1 week 220 1 week 600 1 week SISA 1 week Tin Oxide Christmas presents on the hoof! thanks for looking! SISA is a tumbling pre polish i bought from Alpha Supply and it is described as:
"One of the finest pre-polish agents possible to obtain. For that professional luster use 'SISA' for 5 days between the final grind and polish. Imparts a deep utra-smooth finish to your stones."
it was only 49 cents a pound, so i figured i'd try it, it's probably a lot like the 1000 grit.....? adds that infuriating week to final results, but worth it maybe....?

Super job KD. And had I seen that yesterday I would have loaded my 15B with Tiger eye I got laying around instead of the the scraps of Jasper and Agate I just wanted to get out of the way. What an inspirational shot. I like your preform shapes too, lots less waste than arbitraty tumbling. Nice Job!

aww, thanks, Banjo, they wouldn't have been that nice had i not listened to you.....
so, um....you have 15 lb of Tiger eye..LAYING AROUND....er....cool.
i started a scrap run about 4 weeks ago, along with some Botswana agates that Cal put in my last order for a teaser. glad i got more than one tumbler. some of this scrap will never be jewelry, it'll turn to dust first!
thanks for all you kind words, KD

KD, Those are unbelievably GORGEOUS!!! You did an outstanding job on them!
I have some tiger eye in a mixed load of course right now, and some in a mixed load in prepolish. Now I can't wait to see how mine turn out.
Thanks for showing us! BE

Incredible job, KD, just Beautiful! Is SISA really that inexspensive? Gonna have to get me some, seeing the results. I like the sizes, too. Not too big, not too little. WTG!

*giggle* I was afraid before but is it safe now to ask why you were pulling nails out of your teeth?

KD, those are absolutely fabulous! The inside pic sure shows the color better. They are beautiful.
I have a couple of lbs. of it in it's second week of 60/90. Tomorrow is "check and recharge day", so I hope they are ready to move on to 220. I can't wait to see how they are looking!

Those are really something! I don't think you can get better than that!!! In fact, that's the best shine I've seen yet, on tigers-eye.

I had passed by this posting several times, since I got it confused with the "eye of the serpent" post from a week or so back, so I thought I'd already seen it. Glad I finally stopped in for a look!
Amazing job...they look so transluscent. Also, they don't look pre-formed at all, which I think is a good thing as it makes them look very natural. Really impressive stuff!
