Thanks. And $500 for the lot was a true steal. Boxes of thunder eggs, geodes, rough, partially tumbled, completely tumbled, small slabs, big slabs, fossils (not my thing, but oh well), couple boxes of obsidian, list goes on and on.

Looks like you got yerself a deal! eta --- is it llanite? Ding ding!!! Winner winner, chicken dinner. It is Llanite. I have some good sized chunks for spheres, however I plan on setting a sizable amount of the blue quartz in acrylic and cut a sphere from it.

Looks like you got yerself a deal! eta --- is it llanite? Llanite.....I agree.....looks just like the aquarium gravel my Dad and I raised/bred African Cichlids with.......a Hypabyssal/Micocline material with good sodium and rich potassium traces......much like that found in Lake Malawi and Tanganyika. Color is also great under the proper full spectrum lighting.....My Dad often sourced that stuff from a Texas provider.....now I know why....! Thanks for the insight....!

And yes, I actually ran out to the llanite outcrop in Llano, grabbed a bunch of dirt cause it was slammed full of the small blue quartz crystals and brought it back. Luckily i live just over an hour away for the outcrop, also the reason i have a rather healthy supply of llanite.
