Awhile back.....In this thread....: forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/82628/recent-trip-Utah
I had collected some orb's (Geo) type material.....which I just got around to opening up. They were only about 2" to 2.5" in diameter so I attempted to cut them with a diamond Dremel blade......... once I cut into the harder exterior, two of them started to crumble, so I just cut a very shallow scar line and tapped them apart.
One managed to stay together, so I shaped it a little with the faceting disc.
There were a couple of larger stones we collected in the same area......out-croppings of a lite colored quartz type stone. I've cut it into several pieces now and here's some of it's crystal properties.
The Orb's were really not what I would consider a true Geo.......but I'm fascinated by the crystals. They all now sit on my little display book shelf.

Thanks Ali....It's grown a little since those photos were taken.......The bottom shelf now has all of my fluorescing stones and a black light set-up. BTW, three of those orb pieces have a yellowish bright green glow to their exteriors, think it's just a Calcite stain, but they glow bright.
