Hi all, Emerald came up to North GA and we spent the whole day stomping it the 'Hooch. She brought her son's incredible digital camera (I've never seen such a thing!). I am going to post the few pics we took while rock hounding, but we really didn't want to take the camera down by the water, seeing how we are both spazes but I need to resize them, they're huge! we had a wonderful time, Helen's a sweet heart. Anyway, here's some pics she took of my jewlery. I'm just gonna post 4 untill I can resize, but these are my favs. (They are big, be patient ;D) Blue jasper from Sandman Crazy lace agate Tree agate (or moss, I keep forgetting ) Flint from Llanna. This stuff took an incredible shine. Since I don't pre shape getting earrings is a bonus! Thanks for looking. If you like 'em, more later. cookie

those are great, Cookie....love the mex agate (no surprise there) and i've never seen moss agate like that before, but it is very cool and i love the cap on that one. where do you get your findings and what glue are you using?
if you are using Photobucket to post your pics, it automatically resizes them to 250k if they are larger than that. i try to get mine down to the 100k range in Paint Shop Pro beore i even upload them. you definetly need to tell Santa about this camera thing.....

Hey KD, Thanks! I get my findings and epoxy from KingslyNorth. The epoxy is 330, a 2 part epoxy.Dries clear and it can be polished if need be. Takes a while to cure, though, so I stick the stones in styrafoam while it sets. Heat can speed it up. I use Photobucket, but I'm in the process of resizing now. More later.

It's the Chattahoochee River, but that's a mouthful, so we just call it the 'hooch. And I just had a beer at lunch. OK, two. ;D

alright cookie! finally we get to see. i like what you are doing with them. i'm dying to make some earrings but i never get stones that are close enough to match up. course i myself no longer wear earrings - years of wearing the biggest and heaviest took its toll and i had about a millimeter before they were going to tear right through so i had to learn to "just say no" to earrings. but i sure do love them... kim

Or Not ... LOL yeah.
Great job!! I love the findings, those are soo cool!!
Don't know what program you're using for resizing but if it lets you set the pixel width, set it for 400 pixels wide. They'll fit fine in the posts then and you shouldn't have to worry about the file size either.

OK, bottom line: Do you think this stuff will sell? Is it too amatuerish? What kind of prices are we talking? Depending on size, I'm thinking $15, $20, $25 (for the sets or large "gem stones" like amethyst or citrine). I'm such a chicken! There are 2 places wanting me to set up, but I don't know how to display, price, anything. High five Sands, I sooo understand, as much as I've pushed you. Emerald gave me alot of advise,(thanks!) but I need more encouragement. And If I don't sell some soon, I can't afford to continue. But, of course, I will. I'm GOING to resize these and other pics if it hairlips the Pope, by golly, and then I can put in a coin for comparison, as I should have done originally. They look like boulders! Thanks all, for any advise.

Cookie, What types of places are wanting you to set up and sell your stuff? If these are flea markets, then you should set your prices at flea market levels. If these places are something else, then you should set your prices to match the locale.
That's just my opinion. I think your creations are absolutely beautiful and if I were you, I wouldn't start them for any less than $25.

BE, one is a beauty salon and one is a day spa. Sounds like "disposible income" now that I think about it. I'm glad you like it. My hubby said "Start at $25.00 and mark down to $20.00. Everybody loves a sale." May work cookie

A beauty salon and a day spa? I'd start them at $49.95, or more. You can always have a 'sale' and mark them down, but you won't know what they could bring unless you start a little high!
If you were going to set up in a flea market type setting, then $25. would have been a good place to start.
When are you going to do this?

You are very talented cookie, those are really, really nice! Christmas is around the corner, I was shopping today and they are already playing christmas songs and selling santas and holiday stuff! A good place to sell during the holidays is on eBay, but in there you just have to make sure that your pictures are really great, with a great description and offer free gift boxes with their purchases. A lot of things in eBay sell at higher prices than in other places and a lot of people don't notice that. With a great presentation you could make a lot of money selling those beauties for the holidays. You could also make some nice masculine pendants for the guys, women will like them and will buy them for gifts. Good luck with your ideas!!!
