A few of the crystals I found at Mt. Ida, Arkansas..... The only thing I did to these was clean them up. Hope you enjoy the pictures. Pho

These are all from open pit mines there. Lot of good mines you can work at for a little fee. This man ain't goin in no caves.....like to see the sun and stars..... We are going to put most of our crystals in a little rock garden in the front yard sooner or later. Some of the nice clusters I give to family members as gifts....

Wish I could go to work that one...however....scheduled floor replacement in the kitchen has to take priority this time. Guys..I tell ya...the thrill of picking up a crystal or a nice cluster out of the dirt is something you will never forget. Just knowing you are the very first person to ever see it or hold it in your hand..... Some of the crystals..you don't realy know what is there until you clean it up...and WOW!..when it comes clean and you see what is hidden there....amazing!!! Perhaps we could get together as a group and go to Mt Ida some time next summer. The Wegner Mine will take groups...the require a minumum of $200 for a group. So at $20 each...we get 10 or more...make a big day out of it. Something to think about. What a chance to meet other members here, have a load of fun, and find some nice crystals........I'm in if you decide to go for that.....so we will only need 8 more people to make the miniums...

Pho, those are wonderful! The first piece is definitely a keeper. It should NOT go out in the garden, somebody might come along and decorate their pocket with it! I also think it should be mounted on the really nice piece of wood. I have a great piece of driftwood it would look really good on, so you can send it right over to me and I'll take care of it! ;D
I'm definitely up for a day/weekend of crystal hunting next summer. That would be too much fun. Great new friends, great rock hunting - what more could anyone ask for!
floor replacement in the kitchen has to take priority this time.
I am putting a new floor in my bathroom, but it sure ain't gettin' any priority! LOL! After a week of plywood floor, last night I got around to putting some tiles down. Now I have to do the edges and cut all those tiles to fit, so who knows when I'll get around to that! Max, the dog, could care less if we have a bathroom floor or not. ;D
