Have a Raytech 10" trim/slab saw with auto feed. Newbie question but here it goes. Can I manually feed the rock in the vise through the blade or must I only use the autofeed. Will it hurt anything or is there anything I need to do to do so? Hope my question makes sense. Thanks all.

Sure that should be no problem just don'r engage the half nut and don't force the rock through.

Is there a two position switch or two separate switches? You should be able to run just the arbor motor without feed motor. Leave whatever clutch mechanism it has released and gently push vise (or rock not in vise) through. Listen to motor and let the sound determine cutting speed.

ya what johnjsgems advises he has more knowledge than me on different machines I always assume there is a half nut or something similar.

Two separate switches. Would you recommend MK303 and if so which one or the Agate Kutter? I mainly cut harder stuff. I'm not classy enough for the soft stuff yet. Also, what coolant/liquid do you recommend for my 10" Raytech plesse.
Thank you,
Jason

I think the raytech has the vice platform that hooks under the edge of the saw top to prevent it from riding up the rock, am I right? Either way I always recommend pushing it through manually with that kind of saw.

That's the saw I have. You can use it manually, but will be messy with the oil. I use mineral oil light in mine. I have always used the auto feed. Love my saw!
