Cutoffs and scraps from glass I fused. They are wet and ready for AO 220 in the rotary. ![](https://c2.staticflickr.com/2/1852/29404893277_d207e3ac64_b.jpg)

Thanks for the words folks. Most of this tumbled glass are gifts to arrowhead makers that purchase slabs for flaking arrowheads. The tumbling process tells me a lot about the mechanical quality of the very glass I am sending them. Been sending tumbled scraps straight out of the slabs they order. A lot of those guys make cabs and wire wrap.
Note the long 'toothpicks' in photo. A high strength laminated glass for knapping long slender points. They withstood 90 RPM coarse stage tumbling speeds in 10 pound capacity tumbling barrels. I can't send them brittle glass.

I was wondering about the "toothpicks". Thanks for the explanation.

I was wondering about the "toothpicks". Thanks for the explanation. Been tumbling with 'test toothpicks' for a long time Beth. I use clay slurry thickener and high rotation speeds. If the toothpicks break then it probably means I have bruised rocks/glass because the slurry was not thick enough. Meaning another coarse or 220 grit run to remove bruises no questions asked. I depend heavily on slurry thickener for protection from bruises and increased grinding forces due to the mud sucking the rocks to each other. Sucking rocks together is the same as cohesive forces like your boot sticking to wet clay. Or passing a hoe thru wet gravel easily in a wheel barrow until the portend is added and the guy mixing starts to strain pulling the hoe thru the mix....

jamesp your colorful photo is suitable for framing! That is one of the attributes of tinkering with glass Pat. Lots n lots of color. Why not let it all hang out !! What would our American Indians have thought about a warrior that showed up spearheads like these ? Maybe figured he was light on his feet possibly ? ![](https://c2.staticflickr.com/2/1847/30512922358_e286f6375f.jpg)
