Hope it's okay to post this here, I thought it may be an interest to some.
I've been having some back/neck issues that have been making my sphere making hobby not so fun anymore. Everything has pretty much sat the last two years. I tried making some modifications to make things easier, but then blew out a hernia moving some rock a couple months ago. All relatively minor things, but enough to make me decide to hang up my lapidary shop. So, I recently listed all of my things on facebook. If you have Facebook you can see the listing and pictures in a pinned post here: www.facebook.com/spheremaker/
I'm not currently willing to ship, just due to the hassle and the damn hernia...but here is a list of what I got. I haven't gone thru all my rock yet, and buddy took some but I will have plenty of Lightning Stone rough and cores that will eventually go up for sale as well. Feel free to hit me up if interested in anything. I tried to set prices to be a pretty good deal.
Location: Byron Center, MI USA
Terms: Local pickup, will not ship. Cash Only.
***HIGHLAND PARK SPHERE MACHINE Model LSSM ($625). Purchased new in 2016. Unfortunately for me, I only made a three spheres on it and it has collected dust since. Very clean and works as new. Makes spheres from 1.5" to maybe 6" or so. Retails new for $825. Specs can be found here: www.hplapidary.com/en/model-lssm-3-head-speed-sphere-machine-free-shipping
***Large Homemade Sphere Machine ($400). This was my main sphere machine for about 7 years until the motors broke and I was unable to find replacements. Once I got the Highland Park Sphere machine, I was able to source the same exact motors and have three brand new ones in the box to go with this setup. This machine will require a little assembly, mainly you would have to drill some holes in the aluminum motor holders to align with the mounting screw configuration of the motors. The motors have a standard plug which plugs into the four outlet switch for a one button on and off setup. This machine should be a quick and easy setup for the right person. Also comes with all other parts (bushings, hardware, etc.) to get you up and running (grinding/polishing cups not included). I can give my motor source as well if you ever wanted to get more motors.
***Sphere Grinding / Polishing Megaset plus Extras ($300). All fit 3/4" bushings which are included on all my sphere machines. Includes:
Grinding Cups (6) sets of three each in following sizes: 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1.5", 2", and 2.5" and (5) copper/diamond brazing rods for touching up cups when needed. These cups last years without re-brazing depending on how hard material you cut and all currently have a lot of life in them before needing to be re-brazed. The soft material I cut mostly (lighting stones /petoskey ) would barely put any wear on them.
Polishing Cups: (3) sets of 100/200/500/1000/3000/10000 grit diamond pad heads, (3) sets of leather final polishing cups.
It may seem crazy but I have over $1100 in just these cups not to mention the hours involved to make them. I will also throw in many extras as pictured including cutting jigs, extra cups (without pads), (4) diamond ball bits for making place holders for your spheres in stands, and more.
***75+ new Diamond pads in 3" and 4" sizes ($130). Used in this instance for making new polishing cups or replacing worn pads in existing cups. 50-10000 Grit.
***Cayken Model SCY-1800E / Core Drilling Station / Core Bits ($350). I had plans to use this core drill as the bigger/better model to my older one. It is brand new and I never used it and includes all original pieces, the custom stand I made to hold the water cooling bucket and not yet assembled vice pieces. This would just need the vice pieces positioned and secured to be up and running. Also includes the five core bits ranging from 2.5 to 6 inch size. The red one is brand new but would need an adaptor to fit this drill. The cheapest I could currently find this drill is $455 including shipping. The bits range from $50 - $110 roughly. Specs on the drill can be found here: www.cayken.cn/product_detail/productId=56.html
***Heavy metal stand with rollers as shown with CabKing 6V3 negotiable with purchase.
