Beautiful piece of Uranium Glass received from jamesp. Before 1 After using a hand file to make grooves. Wire is 24 gauge gold filled. Tightened wires and ensured they were in grooves after photo. Messy wrap style. 2 Please note that my vision does not allow me to see finer details before photography.

Yeah, I have that vision problem, too. I have multifocal contacts, that's mostly why I take pics of my rocks- so I can see the detail better. Anyway, I like this!

miketI just have no line bifocals right now that are 2 years old. Prior to that had progressive, tinted lenses. Vision problems can be a pain when doing lapidary or jewelry. But I am persistent. This is my happy place. Glad you like the wrap.

Yep, I can see smaller things way better with no contacts... As long as I don't want to see more than three feet in front of me!
This seems to be my happy place as well.
I do like it. I wish I had some sort of artistic skills, wrapping seems fun.

You did the grooves by hand? Wow! You are dedicated. Looks good, too. Does the groove go all the way around the bottom?

Yes, they go up the front and back a little.

Did not want to risk injury to this special piece of glass by using the Dremel.

I never thought about doing that with uranium glass. I wonder if my wife would mind if I accidentally dropped something from her collection? Unless I want to sleep beside the pooch, I guess I would would be better off looking for something already chipped and marked down. I am impressed that you finished the groves by hand. I don't think I would have the patience.

Thanks. Only took about 10 minutes total with a diamond file. No, do not drop a good piece of glass to make a cab, lol.
