I'm wondering if there would be any interest here on this here... I bought this new earlier this year and I paid $500 total for the unit and extra pan. I'm asking $350 but I'm open to a resonable offer. I don't have a photo of the actual unit but you can trust that it's as I say. If anyone here is serious about it I'll pull it out from where it's stored and take actual photos. It's one of those things (toys) in life that you are convinced you need and you obsess on it until you finally get it and discover otherwise. When it first arrived I played around with it for a few days, then it has sat ever since. At the same time I got it I was also building a spinning lap and have realized that for what I do the spinner is my go-to tool. My old Gemstone tumbler is on it's last leg and I'd like to take the money I have tied up in this unit and maybe get a new Lot-o. Shipping would likely be prohibitive but I'm willing to explore it. I can deliver within the constraints of distance and time ... for instance I will say that I could deliver right away pretty much anywhere in the SF bay area. Northern or Southern CA - I'd say we would have to plan a weekend to meet up somewhere in the central valley. We will be out near the NV/Idaho border in late October and Quartzsite in late January

I bought a 10” Covington lap off a member back in 2005. The cast iron base is much more substantial than what I see on current models.
Shipping was $18.

I have likewise convinced myself as well I need one....and am trying diligently to convince myself otherwise! Don't hold back! Seriously though, it's a wonderful machine and for the right application a very useful lapidary tool. I kinda-sorta pictured it running full time polishing the backs of my cabs as I make them - as well as t-egg halves or slabs etc. I quickly realized this was not the right most effective application for that and went to the spinner which makes quick work of cabochon backsides. If there are no takers here I'll probably put it up on Craigslist in the next day or two.

I just got back from visiting the rockshed in SD (awesome place) and then was gifted a slab saw which I have been trying to get up and running. I would only be interested in it for polishing slabs. I have to pace myself with my rock budget!

Define spinner? Curious now about what machine you are using for your cab backs. Hi Chuck, I built a 9" spinning flat lap out of parts from an old Homecraft sander my son gave me. I keep it dedicated with 400 grit and it does a great job getting out saw marks and other minor problems.

I'm going to bump this back to the top - I'm building a new work bench in my new workshop in the house we're moving to in January and this machine is definitely the odd-man-out for what I do.
I'm reducing the price to $200 (plus actual shipping or includes local delivery)
I just need to be rid of it and I need the money for building the new shop.
