When measuring slabs for description is it common/best practice to take measurements from middle of one side to middle of other side, longest point of one side to longest of other as in length/width or some other way. I just want to be consistent and accurate. Thanks

I measure from the widest point and the thickness of the slab.

I measure from the widest point and the thickness of the slab. Unless a slab is nearly square or rectangular (in which case width, height and thickness are expected), or nearly triangular (in which case measure point to middle of opposite side), just measure widest dimensions + thickness as was said. If at all possible, include an addional image that shows the slab next to a ruler, coin or something else common enough that people can also judge the size by eye.
