These were some she picked up on various trips out to the Bitterroot Valley in Montana. Don't have any idea what they are, but I like 'em. Thanks for looking. Cher

Interesting banding on all, but I especially like the strong contrast in the middle picture.

Well here I go again, I also pick up this stuff locally all the time, too. The first picture would be a particularly good find, the other two are pretty common. If we could figure out what all this stuff is, I'd have 90% of my rocks answered.
I've got a 12 lb. lortone going 60/90 right now with some rocks from a local creek that look awesome.

Puppie, Are you in Montana? If so, what part?
Cher
PS Have you tumbled this stuff before or is this a first time?

No, Cher, I'm not in Montana -- though I do like to drive across it and pick up rocks -- I'm in Missouri! At the moment I'm working a whole lot of rock I picked up in the west, South Dakota and Wyoming in particular, but also I'm working a bunch of local rock, which we actually have a lot of -- I'm constantly amazed by the similarities with other locales like Montana. From reading this board I've figured out that red and yellow jasper is commonplace here, and there's a lot of pretty banded and patterned rock of various sorts (that means I'm not sure what it is). I'm guessing from reading this board that we've got lots of pet wood, too.
