This is a Pastelite slab Vince got off the saw tonight. Might be too pretty to cut.

Update. I forgot to tell Robin I shot the heel (first pic) as well as the first slab. Good news is that means we can cut one of them, right?
The slab in the second photo reminds me of a winter landscape scene. I do believe that one's a keeper just as it is.
Couple of random small pieces of purple sagenite there in the shot as well.

Very nice. Our club took a trip down there a few months ago but I did not go. Will have to check it out someday.

Lots of slabs are too pretty as is. That one is. That’s how I ended up with so many unique and pretty coasters!

Lots of slabs are too pretty as is. That one is. That’s how I ended up with so many unique and pretty coasters! I have a whole flat file full of "too pretty to cut" slabs! I can't help it -- it's a sickness.

Really cool!!! Love the winter scene. You need to slice some off that heel and cab it!!!

Thanks, everyone. Glad Robin could post pics of something so many people like. One like that makes up for a lot of duds.
Yeah, Craig, that heel is headed for our antique 10" Victor. It has a fence I made just for times like this. I love cutting stones from right under the rind on a piece of rough. Takes some extra time, but often yields unique pieces.

Really cool!!! Love the winter scene. You need to slice some off that heel and cab it!!! Vince got a few slabs out of that rock, so we have plenty of cabbing material. That slab up there was just the coolest out of them. I'll let Vince putz with the heel. It's one of his favorite things to do besides slab.

Thanks. Glad you folks liked the pretty rock too. Still haven't cut a cab - was slabbing other stuff this weekend, and Robin was working on an opal from a parcel we got some time ago. Will post pics when one of the Pastelite cabs gets done.
