It's mind boggling to think about the calculations needed to hit such a small target after traveling so far over such a long period of time.
It will be interesting to find out what comes back to Earth at the end of the mission.

Ahh . . . Hyabusa was an easy one. I think the Cassini and Voyager slingshots gave Excel a better workout. : ) True. And done with a LOT less computing power! (Did Excel even exist back then?) But... Voyager and Cassini didn't need to come back.

I read somewhere that there is also be a gizmo aboard the mothership that will be dropped, gather mineral samples, and return to the mothership for transport back home. Amazing!

The explosive device, called the Small Carry-on Impactor (SCI), was released from Hayabusa-2 on Friday. The SCI, a 14kg conical container, was packed with plastic explosive intended to punch a 10m-wide hole in the asteroid.
