Hi All, Here are some pics of the rocks i got after a birthday party for an elderly lady rockhound , just turned 80 !! At the party's address there were too many rocks waiting to be picked up on the garage floor. Here follows my haul. Piemontite ventifact ( shaped by wind and sand on beach) forgot the name of this pretty piece top pieces are kyonite garnet in schist some of the many agate pieces petrified wood amazing piece img.photobucket.com/albums/v253/orepuki/15-10-04camazingrock.jpg[/img]fossil shells out of limestone 3 serpentine pieces enjoy the day Jack

Not only are the rocks nice...it's great to see green grass and flowers! It'll be a while before we see those again here in new england.

As I sit here watching snowflakes ... all the beauty behind the rocks looks so inviting. Looks like it was a backwards birthday party, you came home with all the presents. That amazing piece really is amazing!!! So many already slabbed too, what a nice haul you made. Cher

i have some serpentine, odd stuff. it feels waxy, and breaks very easily. i don't think i can tumble it, it would just crumble probabaly

So did you wait for the birthday girl to take her nap and slip out to the garage... Rocks, Granny, what rocks? I'm just jealous. What a great haul and all you had to do was show up. Hope you brought a present cookie

Thank you for all the replies. That birthday girl did get a present from us , a huge bunch of freshly picked tulips Yes I got my fingers dirty , got cream stuck to them from the cake and no the Birthdaygirl did not have to go for a nap as the haul did not come from her but from another member of the club whose sister had passed away 3 months ago. Cher , I only have to go up 2000 feet and I should see snowflakes too. Spring has left us again and it turned out quite cold this afternoon. Yesterday I was working the garden topless and today the winterwoollies are back in favour. Jack
