I see a lion head in that first picture. The black starts his mane.

I see a lion head in that first picture. The black starts his mane. I had to lean back to see that but yes, it is there. what jumped out at me was the hands on the back of a child's head.

...I love how much this one honestly reminds me of lava flows. Probably more than any other piece I've seen. That's gorgeous.

Ive just spent 20 min blowing it up as large as I can and just looking at it. It is so cool. You can see the lava in it.

got this chunk off the polisher today, never get tired of looking at obsidian! woodman, Congratulations, these are profound images, bordering on the incredible. What you have here is a clear vision of what it is like when descending into the abyss. I count over fifty faces of lost souls all looking upwards staring up at anyone who looks carefully at the various people that can be detected. What stands out in the center image, on the right, is an arm holding a white object being dunked into the river Styx, below. It looks like a struggling person. I can say this is better than those images as depicted by Dantes seven levels of purgatory....... Truly Awesome. Cheers, johnw

Trapped souls all over this piece alikat218, the mind is a powerful creative medium and lets you see way beyond all reasonable understanding by others. My initial response was "decent into hell", but thought it too alarming and thus changed it to the abyss. Dantes 7 levels of purgatory was an apt description to parallel the visuals that we all saw. Deep but true based on the comments....... woodman did a profound job on this piece.......... Cheers, johnw
