Cheers, johnw I don't see that particular slab handy right now but I think it is about 4 by 6" more or less. after cutting i degrease them in a toaster oven to get all of the oil off. probably could do it different but that is what works for me. After all the oil is off i go directly to my Bull Wheel with 100 grit belt on it, once I get all the saw marks off I go to 220 grit , then to 400s grit. In Between each step I hit it with a pressure washer. Once sanded it goes to my 36" polisher with cerium oxide on a 100% wool carpet pad. It took a bit to learn how to polish obsidian but found the secret, at least for me, is the sanding, the better the job of sanding the better the polish. I just took 13 photos of another slab and It illustrated another very good point, beefore trying to take photos of it, make sure all smears and fingerprints are off. I failed 13 times so will not post my failures at picture taking here.
