I have no affiliation to this but I did go look at the equipment today and passed on it. It is probably a really good deal for the right person but more effort then I wanted to put in at the moment. The listing is for all items at $750. I made him a really good cash offer on 5 pieces of equipment but he stood his ground about wanting to sell the whole lot. I offered $400 for everything except the 12" saw and the 18" saw. Those both need some TLC but he would have no problem getting more then enough for them to surpass his original $750 total. Spent three hours driving round trip so I was a little bummed. 12" lortone slab saw - saw turned on and ran fine but the power feed did nothing. Could be as simple as switch. 18" lewaco slab saw - motor needs mounted better. originally power feed but gutted all of those parts and now set up as gravity feed richardson hagh speed sander - excellent condition gemlap 8" trim saw - dirty but will clean up nicely 24" vibe lap - huge but only one pan comes with it beacon star 4 wheel arbor with taps for end laps - Nice unit. has potential. 12" leather polisher several old extra motors porthuron.craigslist.org/for/d/lapidary-machinery/6717375835.htmlChuck

That’s a shame that he wouldn’t take your offer. It seems like you made a very reasonable offer for what you wanted. Those saws are worth way more than 350. Could you have fit everything into your truck if you decided to take it all?

Yeah I think I could have done it in one trip. I probably should have sucked it up and took it all. I am sure I could have posted those saws as is as project saws and got my other $350. I was just a little miffed that he would not work with me. Before I left I even made one last offer. I said since I drove all this way I’ll give you $150 for the Richardson sander. I told him all he would need to do is take one photo off of his listing and drop his price. He said no to that even though he did not know what a Richardson sander was.

Sounds like a pleasant fellow. Really was not too bad right up until not excepting my offers. It is his right to do so I get it. I was just bummed that I spent an hour telling him all about what he had and what fixes the saws might need only to go home empty handed. In the end I tried telling him he would get much more by selling items individually to people that wanted or needed a specific item VS forcing them to buy stuff they don't want or need. Chuck

I would have bought the lot at that price.

I would have bought the lot at that price. It is a good price and money can be made off of it at that price. That is why I shared it here. I just did not want the clutter or projects of the bigger saws at the moment. The gemlap 8" saw would sell for $150 easy on ebay without the motor I have sold the same beacon star cab unit in the past for about $400 with no grinding wheels on it. The richardson sander I bet would bring in $150-$200 The 12" lortone saw even with the auto feed not working is probably #350-400 The 18" gravity feed saw easily $400 even though it needs TLC The 25" vibrating lap $300-$400 Chuck
