This idea has been in my head for a while. You tell me if it should have stayed there, lol. Glass cab from jamespGold filled wire. Do not let the thin appearance fool you. This is some hard wire that holds shape well. I crocheted a basic chain. That took a while, due to the wire hardness. Then secured the cab within the wrap with a very basic pattern. Photo also shows the peach colored, simple hemp cord it will be presented on. Have a little re-positioning of the wires to do yet. What do you think of this prototype? Thank you. [/url

I like it! Glad you let it out of your head Thank you very much. The overall design still needs some refining, but I am happy with the prototype.

I like the concept of crocheting the wire. Your prototype turned out well. I have been experimenting with braiding in a wire wrap - still working out some of the issues. Not enough hours in a day.

I am in process of a braided one, too.

Have you tried a viking knit? It's a great way to hold a cab. I've done braided, too, it ended up using a lot of wire. I liked it, but I could only do it in copper.

Tried the viking, but have not perfected it (yet).
