Nobody won the mega on Monday... prize is going to be a BILLION dollars next drawing Yeah, you don't need to worry about it, Tommy. I bought the winning ticket today. You can win it and buy your toys next time it gets up there. Ah, but your scenario excludes the possibility of Tommy buying a winning ticket also. There have been many jackpots split amongst winning tickets, so don't stick your tongue out and give him the nose trumpet just yet...

I'm thinking when I win it I'm going to buy a ranch and some land near here in south dakota, plus a rock crawling vehicle then spend my days hunting for fairburns! Everyone here on RTH will be welcome to visit!

I think there's enough there, I would be more than happy to share. When I bought my tickets yesterday, I got them for FRIDAY'S draw. Lady probably thought I was nuts. Now just have to wait until Friday. Doh, of course I got them for Friday, they had just drawn on Tuesday night.

Now just have to wait until Friday. There was an office pool started here yesterday and I was compelled to contribute. My thinking, as soon as I don't join the pool, they will win and I would be the only one showing up to work on Monday. I just don't think I could recover from something like that. Consider it insurance against a winning ticket.

Sorry, but to me, cars and lottery have taken away from the importance of this auction to raise money for RTH. Can we get back on topic? Yes, I posted about the car auctions, but realized later I should not have. I am great at times to take a post a little off topic, so understand how this happened here.

BTW, there is actually more inside the box than what made it into the pictures. I also added in a flat of Rose Quartz cabochon sized preforms - some of them have cracks but the patient lapidary could probably make a dozen small cabochons from them.
I also stuffed all the nooks and crannies and spaces in between with loose preforms from my personal stash. Just these preforms alone would easily make $200 in finished cabochons if sold at $20 to $30 each.
My point is it's a nice box and someone is going to be quite happy they pulled the trigger.

TommyHow many slabs in that box? Including slabbettes/preforms? I'm not sure anymore but it's probably around 120. Looking at it this way and adjusting out the freight cost, the current bid is around $0.84 per piece in the box. Believe it or not there is still a little bit of room in the box that could be utilized with a minor re-pack ... several rows of slabs are double-papered - ie: cardboard front and back. I'm thinking that if the bid jumps up to $150 I might have to replace some of that pesky cardboard with another row of slabs.

I'm thinking those are all worth at least $3 ea, so roy is correct, it's a bargain at $300. I'm not buying at the moment due to workshop build out. Come in people, someone step up and break the bank! If bidding goes over $175 I will send the victorious shopper a 3" Davis Creek sheen obsidian sphere. Polish in this piece is exquisite. Green and purple sheen shows a peacocks eye. Image doesn't show this peacock effect well. A video is needed. The eye is entirely green. Postage included. Tommy photo added

Yes roy was absolutely correct. There are several of the picture jasper slabs that would sell for $30+ each on Facebook. Thank you for the sphere offer! That's badass Edit: Even more badass now that I see the picture

NRG Hoping your offer causes the bidding to jump up quickly. I will play along. If bidding reaches $250.00, I will send the winner a traditional, Jacia style necklace made from vintage 1980's Sleeping Beauty and Kingman Turquoise. It also contains natural red coral and shell beads from the same era. Priced at $75.00. Give me a few minutes to photograph the necklace and post.

Here are the necklace photos, with a disclaimer. The Turquoise, Red Coral and Shell beads were purchased in 1986 from Thunderbird Supply in Gallup, NM. The larger Turquoise was sold as Kingman. The smaller ones, on the Jacia portion were sold as Sleeping Beauty. The coral was labeled as natural, red coral, not dyed. We were frequent customers there, and were brought there by a long time Navajo customer on our first visit, so hoping everything purchased was as represented. The Hemetite on the Jacia is present day, as are the silver plated cones used. It contains a lobster claw clasp. 1 2 If anyone needs additional photos to encourage them to bid, let me know. I will pay for shipping.
