I got some in the mail today, here's the Graveyard Plume Agate And here's the 3 pieces of Picture Jasper. How'd I do? Total cost was $12.30 ($6.05 shipping). They are about 1/4 inch thick each. Rose quartz should be here on Monday, can't wait to see that stuff. Thanks for looking, Cher

Wish I had a grinder to work them on, going to be scary messing with the dremel and don't have the foggiest idea how I'll get them polished ... LOL ... but still had to get them, too neat to pass up.

cher i'm thinking you'll never get them smooth enough with just the dremel to accept the polish so you'll either have to tumble them starting at the 2nd or 3rd stage with lots and lots of pellets or whip out the credit card and get that grinder/polisher unit on the way! ;D life is short .... it's only money ... today's the day ... you only go around once ... never, ever take me shopping with you . i'll get in trouble. kim

LOL Dang, you'd be like taking my hubby shopping. Every time I ask him if he wants anything, he says no but if he goes along we spend about 100 too much. I guess I'll just have to put these away as wishful thinking. There's definitely no grinder in the near future, although I heard there's a place not too far from me that has the grinder with the stone on one side, belt on the other for $59.95. Problem is, don't you have to buy special belts for those things? I mean all different grits. Oh, and I suppose the wheel that comes with it would have to be replace right away too ... lol. Nope, Kim, I don't think I can go shopping with you. ;D ;D
Llana ... are you telling me they'd get "lost in the mail"? ;D ;D Hmmm can't go shopping with you either!!

are you telling me they'd get "lost in the mail"? Nope, wouldn't say that at all. Would just tell ya' the truth. "Cher, I really love these slabs. I worked hard on them and they are really pretty. I'll take some pics so you can see what they look like, but I ain't returnin' them!!!" ;D See how easy that is! llana

Those slabs are great, and you got a wonderful price on them...
The picture jasper is amazing when it's polished, and it's like little glimpses into the desert sands.... truly beautiful.
I'm with Llana... I'd offer to grind them for you, but as with her, you might not get them back...::chuckles::
Honestly though, if you have the extra money, the grinder combo is a worthy spending, especially if you are wanting to take your hobby to the next level.
Have fun with the slabs, Cher and let us know how they turn out...
Billy
