Lucky guy who found that. The only thing the finder gets is a great story to tell his kids and grandkids. The emerald belongs to the mine owners.

True enough, but just imagine even holding an emerald that weighs about a kilo of that quality. Maybe he'll get a fabulous bonus for finding it. Nah, probably not.

I struggle with nerves when trying to figure out exactly how to cut up a valuable slab for cabbing... can you imagine being the guy or girl responsible for figuring out how to cut that sucker? lol I wonder who decides if they will produce five thousand 1 carat stones or twenty at 250 carats.
It's probably already sold before the cutting begins.
