Might sound silly to some here, but does anyone else feel like a 5 year old at Christmas when they know a delivery of rocks is coming?
Each and every one I receive takes me back to that Christmas morning in 1967, when our Summer neighbors had sent me that wonderful box. It was filled with Apache Tears, Desert Roses, Thunder Eggs, Geodes, shells and Fossils. My family used to go over to see them a lot. I was even allowed to walk the 1/4 mile to their place (as long as I went through the field/woods). They saw me collecting some rocks from their driveway and shells from the lake. The rest is history. When I was older, and allowed to row the boat by myself, I often fished in their bay. Usually ended up taking the boat to their dock and coming inside for a while. We remained in touch until they both passed away in 2004. Such wonderful and caring people.
Today is an especially anxious one for me. Saw via tracking, that my package went out for delivery at 9:15 AM. A lot later than normal. So, mail delivery will be late today and I have to leave for work, probably before the package arrives. It is from The Rock Shed, but contains some new and exciting items for me. Not just a few rocks, but other things.
Sorry if this seems silly, just sharing the passion.

I get so excited when I know I have one coming and then SUPER excited )like a 5 year old with a pony excited) when I open my mail and have a delivery I didn't know what coming

Not silly one bit, and I loved your story! Experiences like that and the memories they make are priceless. I felt the same way just waiting for the polish to arrive from The Rock Shed since it's my first batch ever and I can't wait to see if it turns out!

I feel that way when I am tumbling some interesting rocks or digging a good signal when metal detecting. If you don't get excited, then you are no fun. ;-)

I had a misspent youth...Friday midnights at the Roxy Theatre in Toronto watching this movie. When he hesitates here everyone in the audience yells "Say it"!
