Hi, mooresean68, you've got some fine looking pieces there, please keep us informed of your progress. Just curios, how long will you tumble in coarse? BTW, to the RTH Forum..............Cheers, johnw

Thanks!
johnw I'd expect at least a couple weeks to shape in the coarse maybe a little more, they are in a 12lb Lortone QT12 so given the moh's hardness I'm hoping to see some good shapes after a couple weeks. After that it'll be "as they're ready" to move on and how satisfied I am with the shapes and defects. I have been doing weekly clean outs but I'm starting to increase time to two or three weeks.
saxplayer yes there are some pretty nice pieces, certainly some potential there.
I picked up 2lbs of it from therockshed and some other material too but doing just this first.

Make sure if your clean outs are every 2-3 weeks, that you are still recharging grit every 5-7 days. In the QT12 my grit is used up in 5 days. I found my crazy lace to shape faster that some of my other rough, took about 3-4 weeks for me.

Sean, thank's for responding, good luck on the process and send many pictures.
Err, hmmm, well, here goes, I am not quite sure how to say this but as you may know we have a thread going on RTH Forum that is called "what do you see in stone". It was started by fernwood. ( thank you fernwood) early in the year and I have contributed a few examples, ( these guys are cracking up because its been more than a few), anyway its a great thread to join with a sample of any stone you "see" that has images on it. I must warn you however, it's very addicting once you start, particularly if you are running lace. As an example, the batch you show in your image I counted six faces when I first looked, can you see them? Top right two stones, one has a guy with a white face laughing next there is a ghoul with a really black eye., moving down bottom two, a bald headed guy and next to him looks like an Elmer Fud with an engineers cap.. Move directly over two stones to the left and there is a brownish stone with the face of a man with a long nose, black eye and a scar on his cheek. Finally, move up from that stone two places and there is an alien with a white face with a red slash. These are the easy ones, there are more but require serious visualization. .......... Like I said it's addictive but is loads of fun.
Here is a close up of the last two faces,
Now I am guessing you will never be the same again when you look at lace . ............. and I did not mean to hijack your thread. ....... Cheers, johnw

Those look like they should tumble nicely. Can't wait to see them. Good crazy lace is one of my favorite tumbles.
